About Me

Senior Advisor | Healthcare & Senior Transitions Specialist

As a Senior Advisor (SA) with over 30 years of executive healthcare leadership experience and 20 years as a licensed real estate professional specializing in senior transitions, I offer invaluable aging transitions support. My unique cross-sector perspective integrates clinical operations expertise, senior healthcare navigation, housing strategy, and relocation management into a comprehensive advisory framework tailored for aging adults and their families.

With three decades of leading high-acuity Emergency Room operations, I possess advanced expertise in crisis management, discharge planning, interdisciplinary coordination, regulatory compliance, and patient-centered care delivery. This clinical and operational foundation uniquely enhances the SA role, enabling informed guidance through complex healthcare, housing, and life-transition decisions.

I combine my healthcare systems knowledge with real estate and relocation strategy to assist seniors during hospitalization, downsizing, assisted living placement, memory care transitions, and asset management decisions. I am recognized for mitigating risk, improving care continuity, reducing readmissions, and protecting families from costly or emotionally driven decision-making as a senior relocation specialist.

I serve as a trusted authority, bridging healthcare providers, senior living communities, legal professionals, and family caregivers to ensure safe, dignified, and well-coordinated transitions.

REAL LIFE EVENTS

Scenario 1: Preventing a Poor Assisted Living Placement

Situation:

An 82-year-old woman with early-stage dementia was being rushed into an assisted living facility after a fall. Her adult children were overwhelmed and unsure how to evaluate options. They sought aging transitions support to guide them through this challenging time.

SA Impact:

- Conducted a needs assessment (medical, cognitive, mobility, financial)

- Identified that memory care — not standard assisted living — was appropriate

- Reviewed contracts and fee structures to prevent unexpected cost escalation

- Coordinated communication between the hospital discharge planner and facility staff, enhancing senior healthcare navigation

Outcome:

The client was placed in a properly staffed memory care unit, reducing fall risk and preventing a likely hospital readmission, thanks to the expertise of a senior relocation specialist.

Scenario 2: Navigating Medicare & Long-Term Care Confusion

Situation:

A family believed Medicare would cover long-term nursing home care indefinitely.

SA Impact:

- Provided aging transitions support by educating the family on Medicare vs. Medicaid coverage limitations.

- Explained skilled nursing coverage timelines to enhance their senior healthcare navigation.

- Referred them to an elder law attorney for asset planning.

- Helped them explore appropriate financial planning options with the guidance of a senior relocation specialist.

Outcome:

The family avoided a financial crisis and made proactive, informed decisions instead of reactive ones.

Scenario 3: Managing Crisis Relocation After Sudden Health Event

Situation:

A senior homeowner suffered a stroke and could no longer live independently. The home needed to be sold quickly to fund care, highlighting the need for aging transitions support.

SA Impact:

- Conducted a safety and feasibility assessment

- Coordinated estate liquidation and home preparation

- Facilitated communication between medical providers and family, assisting in senior healthcare navigation

- Ensured relocation timing aligned with rehabilitation discharge, working with a senior relocation specialist

Outcome:

Smooth transition to appropriate care while preserving asset value and minimizing family conflict.
